Residents Surveys
Surveys of the perceptions and skills levels of residents of East Manchester have been undertaken to assess the issues faced by residents.
These surveys were carried out before the programme commenced (1999) in order to establish a robust baseline and have since been carried out in 2002 and again in 2005 to monitor the progress of New East Manchester in tackling the complex issues that the area faces. The boundaries of the New East manchester area have increased over time and therefore the survey results can only be compared over time using the smaller geography.
