Wind Turbine
In 2007 work will start on a new and unique addition to the Manchester skyline. Plans have been approved to build a 120 metre high wind turbine at Sportcity.
The project is financed and managed by the electricity company 'Ecotricity', in partnership with Manchester City Football Club. It will quietly supply 3 megawatts of green, clean energy to Manchester homes and businesses, helping to reduce the impact of climate change and demonstrating that alternative energy sources can be a practical solution, even in urban areas.
