Prime development opportunity in East Manchester

A development partner or consortium is being sought to work with New East Manchester Ltd, its partners and the community to regenerate the Lower Medlock Valley area of East Manchester that covers 5-18 hectares (37-44 acres) and within one and a half miles of Manchester city centre.

Once selected, the development partner will work closely with New East Manchester Ltd to develop a masterplan and implementation framework for the regeneration of the area, which currently consists of residential and disused industrial land. These development opportunity sites vary from 0.1 hectares to 3.4 hectares.

Tom Russell, chief executive of New East Manchester Ltd said: “The Lower Medlock Valley represents a prime opportunity in the regeneration of east Manchester. Its scale, location, situation and ‘greenness’ give it the potential to become one of the most attractive places to live in East Manchester. We are looking for a developer with the vision to create a master plan for a high quality scheme that incorporates a range of styles and densities while maintaining the coherence and character needed to create a place, rather than a series of disparate developments".
