Learn to Do It Yourself
The course covers a range of topics including household repairs, plumbing, electrics, plastering and decorating and can accommodate fifteen people. All materials and equipment will be provided.
Since the flurry of home improvement television shows, there has been a steady increase in the popularity of DIY. However, poorly conducted DIY cannot only be very dangerous, but can be detrimental to house prices. This course aims to put a stop to inferior and unsafe workmanship in the home.
Sean McGonigle, New Deal for Communities Co-ordinator, commenting on the course said: "This scheme provides an excellent opportunity for both homeowners and tenants to learn skills that will save them time and money. DIY, if done properly can also improve the value of the home. This course will enable people to learn new skills, find a new hobby or interest, meet like-minded people and, for some, it may lead to a whole new career."
For more information or to register for the course call Beki Sibiga on 0161 230 2100 or email r.sibiga@manchester.gov.uk. Places are limited.
