Housing Profile
Most of the housing stock of 900 properties is social rented, with over 575 being owned by Manchester Council.
There are a number of smaller Housing Association schemes including a modern development of over 150 homes by Guinness Northern Counties.
The Council stock, built following clearance of older terraced housing in the late 1970`s, is arranged in a “Radburn” Style layout with a mixture of houses and three and four storey maisonettes, and two high-rise blocks of flats.
Most of the housing requires significant investment to meet the Government’s Decent Homes Standard.
