The Vision - Miles Platting

The vision for Miles Platting is to develop a revitalised neighbourhood with a greater range of housing types and mix of housing tenures, (to be developed via a major PFI project delivered by the Renaissance Consortium), a substantially improved public realm, reconnecting areas and extending the street grid pattern, and developing a new community hub at the junction of Oldham Road and Varley Street which will provide retail, health and community and leisure services including a new library.

A new primary school will also be developed to complement the existing Sure Start building at the junction of Varley Street and the Rochdale canal.
