Miles Platting lies between Manchester City Centre, a mile to the west, and Sportcity just half a mile to the east. It is bounded by Oldham Road to the north, Hulme Hall Lane to the east and Bradford Road to the Ancoats Urban Village and New Islington immediately to the south and west.

Just minutes away from the city centre, Miles Patting benefits from its own swimming baths and library as well as Victoria Mill, which currently houses a health centre and adult learning centre among other services.

Open green spaces can be found throughout Miles Platting, and the Rochdale Canal weaves its way peacefully through the streets. With a mixture of family homes and apartments, the neighbourhood will undergo major improvements over the next ten years to both the environment and housing.
