Progress at November 2008
Construction on Phase 1 (site of the former secondary school) is underway. 83 new homes will be built in the first phase (which will include 18 new apartments and a range of 2,2/3, 3 and 4 bedroom houses).
These properties will be for existing residents and people new to the area wanting buy properties on the open market. The apartment block and gated parking areas will be the subject of a management regime. The first new homes will be handed over to residents from the end of November 2008. Lovell’s Sales Office (situated on Fairfield Road) opened in September 2008.
A CPO Public Inquiry was held in September 2008 the outcome of which will be known at the end of January/beginning of February 2009.
The area continues to be managed by the Housing Market Renewal Team working in partnership with the local Police, warden service and Street Environment Manager.
A monthly resident’s drop-in is held at the Eden Project on the corner of Fairfield Road/Toxteth Street which is an opportunity for residents to talk to officers about neighbourhood issues and their rehousing options.
The Housing Market Renewal Team also continue to give advice and support to those residents currently wishing to move out the area.
