Ashton New Road

The Ashton New Road Neighbourhood lies within the Clayton area of East Manchester some three kilometres to the east of the City Centre within the Ancoats and Clayton Ward.

The neighbourhood is primarily bounded to the north by North Road, to the east by the administrative boundary between Manchester City Council and Tameside MBC, and to the south by the Ashton Canal.

The major arterial route of Ashton New Road, along which the proposed Metrolink extension will run, bisects the Neighbourhood and creates two distinct sub-areas that are referred to as Ashton New Road north and Ashton New Road south.
